Scottish TV and radio presenter Arielle Free has secured a permanent slot on BBC Radio 1, hosting the brand new Weekend Early Breakfast show every Friday to Sunday, launching September 6.

The Love Island: The Morning After podcast host, who's previously stepped in to cover the station's Early Breakfast and Dance Anthems shows, commented 'To use a cliché, this is a dream come true for me to join the greatest radio station in the world. Radio 1 is the reason why I got into broadcasting in the first place and has been the soundtrack to my life. It’s truly an honour to wake the nation up and ready for the weekend'.
